Recipe: Monday meal ideas – a Christmas edition

December 7, 2015 by Shari Leave a Comment

I can’t believe that it is December, so many people are putting up their Christmas decorations sooner and sooner. Heck, Love Wednesday wrote a post about why she puts up her Christmas tree in October. I might not put up my Christmas tree up until the 1st of December, but I sure do love looking through magazines, watching TV programs and reading blog posts about Christmas food as easy as possible – to start planning out my Christmas menu.

I’ve published quiet a few Christmas recipes over the life of this blog. So many, that I thought that I would share four of my older recipes each Monday in the lead up to Christmas so that you too could get started on planning your Christmas menu. I’ll also be sharing new recipes and family favourites throughout the week – so stay tuned.

And why not start at the end {because you really want to end your Christmas dinner with a bang}.

Here are some of my most popular Christmas dessert recipes:

GoodFoodWeek's macadamia, white chocolate and mango cheesecakes GoodFoodWeek's christmas inspired bark GoodFoodWeek's simple homemade shortbread GoodFoodWeek's pavlova roll

What is your favourite Christmas dessert? Are you a Christmas pudding fan? Do you light your Christmas pudding? Do you serve your Christmas pudding with cream, ice-cream, custard or all of the above? I’d love to see if you recreate any of my Christmas dessert recipes over the silly season – remember to grab a snap shot and post to social media using the hashtag #goodfoodweek.

I popped this @drinklisto Tommy’s Margarita Mix in my @delishdeliveries order as a little Christmas present to me.

Think I’ll order another cause they went down way too easy!

The salad was cos lettuce, avocado, cucumber, and dill dressed in lime juice, olive oil and salt.

When @delishdeliveries deliver the perfect produce you don’t need to do very much 👏🏻

Working on perfection ... I feel like it’s plat Working on perfection ...

I feel like it’s platter season - however with Covid-19 around we haven’t been getting out and about nor have we been having as many guests as normal.

I was really hoping that we were going to be able to get the opportunity to catch up with people that we hadn’t seen, but it’s not really panning out that way.

Here is a platter from New Years Eve - when some other friend’s plans got cancelled which meant that they were able to pop in and see us (as they were a family of four).

What’s your key to the perfect platter?

Shari from GoodFoodWeek

GoodFoodWeek started in 2008 as a way of sharing recipes with uni friends and family who were spread near and far. It has evolved over the years to contain my ramblings as I’ve searched for a house, planned the perfect veggie patch, stumbled through farmer’s markets with my eye half open (because you need to be there at 6am to get the fresh eggs), had babies, gathered family and friends around a shared table, laughed out loud and enjoyed life to the fullest!
