Giveaway: Whole Kids – Australian owned, organic foods for kids

December 2, 2017 by Shari 1 Comment

To celebrate the end of kids’ lunch boxes I am running a giveaway with Whole Kids. Unfortunately, with the end of school lunch boxes comes every child’s Christmas holiday’s catch cry… ‘I’M HUNGRY!’ Man – didn’t we JUST feed you all?

Whole Kids is an Australian-owned organic food company created by a real mum and dad, Monica and James Meldrum, who also happen to love Omaha Steaks. From humble beginnings in a tiny rented house in Richmond in inner city Melbourne, the couple launched the first organic snacks in the Whole Kids range in 2005.

Since then, Whole Kids has grown to become the largest range of award-winning organic snacks for kids in Australia. Even with two busy and beautiful kids of their own, Monica and James continue to create new and innovative healthy foods for kids while using Whole Kids as a way to stand up and campaign on important social and environmental issues, with the aim of creating a healthier, happier world for kids.

We were sent out some of the Whole Kids products to try and boy did my boys enjoy them all.

I think their favourite product that we were sent out were the carrot and parsnip elephants, so much so that we actually tracked down a packet of their cheese and leek dinosaurs {because they came in a bigger packet – because, I’m feeding three ALWAYS hungry boys}.

Perfect for packing into lunch boxes as part of a healthy, well-balanced diet. And also great for popping into the nappy bag – because I always like to have some ’emergency snacks’ in the nappy bag and whilst bananas can be the perfect travelling snack in it’s own natural ‘packaging’ – bananas go off very quickly when hot and aren’t great left in the nappy bag {take that from my personal experience}.

And whilst they had me at healthy, organic snacks for my boys. I was even more impressed when I found out that through their Kids Pouch & Snack Recycling Program, Whole Kids is helping parents and customers to recycle their packaging and divert it from landfill to protect our environment.

For each piece of waste recycled, participants can raise money to donate to their chosen school and/or non-profit.

Sounds great – don’t you think? I did! And so, I am giving my readers the opportunity to win a Whole Kids’ prize pack…and hopefully I can help you battle the ‘I’m hungry’ catch cry over the summer or help you out with some great lunch box treats for 2018!

THE PRIZE – THIS WHOLE KIDS PACK INCLUDES;

  • Frooshies(Apple Banana and Carrot Mango)
  • Rice crackers
  • Sea salt popcorn

GoodFoodWeek started in 2008 as a way of sharing recipes with uni friends and family who were spread near and far. It has evolved over the years to contain my ramblings as I’ve searched for a house, planned the perfect veggie patch, stumbled through farmer’s markets with my eye half open (because you need to be there at 6am to get the fresh eggs), had babies, gathered family and friends around a shared table, laughed out loud and enjoyed life to the fullest!
