The other night I headed along to ‘Icecreamology 101’ at Questacon as part of the Enlightened Festival. It was awesome – okay not as foodie as I had expected, but lots of audience participation and it was great for the kids that had come along too.
During the 90 minutes session they made 4 icecream flavours and 2 sorbets. The chilli chocolate icecream was pretty inedible, but the lemon/lime/mint/tonic water sorbet that glowed in the dark was the perfect end to the night.
The boys might have needed a little help in making their toffee – because they really look it a little too far in both of their attempts. But they definitely made up for it with their personality and witty informational facts.
At $15 per person this was a really reasonably priced activity as part of the Enlightened Festival. I wished that I had been aware of all of the activities happening around the Parliamentary Triangle – as I would have rocked up a little earlier and grabbed some dinner and entertainment pre show. So, it would be helpful to see more advertising of all the side events.
But all in all the Enlightened Festival is a great addition to the Canberra Calander – yes, non-canberra people… Canberra has lots of things to do and see and entertain you, so why not plan a trip!
