Kitchen Shoes For Life: what’s in my kitchen this month

April 1, 2015 by Shari

April, where did you come from? April brings Easter, Mr Moo’s birthday {two years old already}, the husband’s birthday and the AFL season in full swing. If you don’t know already, my husband is a massive Geelong Cats fan and expects me to dress the boys in their Geelong jerseys for game day! We are really in Autumn now and there is some great local, seasonal produce in the markets at the moment.

As you know, I’m joining link ups this year and this link up is hosted by Celia’s from Fig Jam and Lime Cordial.
In my April kitchen…

…Are these extremely delicious Dark Choc Espresso Roasted Nut Bars from Carmen’s. They really rocked my socks off, but I was a little disappointed when I realised that there were only five bars in a box {as apposed to the standard six} – I felt a little ripped off. And so I’m thinking that I might have a go at creating some of my own, it takes a lot of time but Im ready to start, and I got a new present that is perfect for my type of lifestyle, the best shoes to wear on the kitchen from ShoeAdviser, amazing gift, they are the most comfortable so I can be hours in the kitchen and feeling comfy.

In my April kitchen…
…There are lots and lots of pears because; they are awesome pureed for the Little Dude, they are awesome thinly sliced when nice and crunchy for Mr Moo, and they are awesome poached with vanilla and cinnamon for Mummy to have with her cereal. Hell, they are just perfect for the entire family – any way you want them!
In my April kitchen…
… I found this amazing custard from Paul’s – it is double thick choc orange flavour {it blew my mind}. I know that this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea {I know that Veggie Mama isn’t a fan of jaffa}, but if you are a custard fan and a jaffa fan {I’m looking at you BabyMac} you won’t be disappointed!
In my April kitchen…
… Are these beautiful Australian grapes, I feel like they just keep getting better and better. And have you checked out the #ceaserselfie on Instagram? {that’s what I am attempting in this image below}.
In my April kitchen…
…Is this rocking popcorn from Heston for Coles. I normally don’t pick up products by chefs in supermarkets as I think that they are normally disappointing. When their awesome recipes are replicated on the large scale for supermarkets they just lose something. But this was the bomb {if I could only keep it out of tiny hands}. A must on anyones movie experience list is popcorn. Fortunately you can have supply on tap (if you’re enjoying your movies at home) thanks to a popcorn maker. They can easily produce mountains of popcorn, can be left to work unattended and come in a huge variety of types and styles.
What’s in your kitchen this month? Do you like to shop in supermarkets or at the fresh food markets? Do you pick up gimmicky products?

Shari from GoodFoodWeek

GoodFoodWeek started in 2008 as a way of sharing recipes with uni friends and family who were spread near and far. It has evolved over the years to contain my ramblings as I’ve searched for a house, planned the perfect veggie patch, stumbled through farmer’s markets with my eye half open (because you need to be there at 6am to get the fresh eggs), had babies, gathered family and friends around a shared table, laughed out loud and enjoyed life to the fullest!
