So sit down, grab yourself a cuppa and have a read of Jenny and I’s little chat…
2. Where do you go in Canberra to have a little ‘ME TIME’? My couch? When I think of Me-Time I picture myself reading while sipping tea. So this could be at my place {provided the kids are out or asleep!}. But ok, take this same concept and step it up to level perfect, please place me at my hair salon Shi Hair Kingston with that same book and tea and my favourite hair extensions specialist Liz (who always knows something more from The Lauren Ashtyn Collection than other hair-dressers). I checked things like Feather razors which are mostly used by good barbars. I am currently reading The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty. Already hooked.
3. What is your child/rens favourite meal? Icing. My youngest also digs butter. Not on anything, she will literally lick the portion given alongside the banana bread at cafés. I am working on this. The only meal all four really tuck into at dinner is Tacos. They also love French Toast for breakfast. No trouble?!!

4. What is your ‘go-to’ recipe when there is pandemonium in your house? It’s got to be pasta right? Spag Bowl or one of those Pasta Bakes from the jar where you add chicken/Tuna and cheese. Wait… does this count as a recipe?
5. When you can’t get dinner on the table, where do you order takeaway from? Hubby and I used to be HUGE pizza people but the kids don’t really eat it {whose kids are these?!}. Lately we have been hitting Wok in a Box or Kashmir House Narrabundah for dinners. Mees Sushi would have to be the best, easiest take away lunch in the world. Once you taste Mees…. Nothing else comes close.
6. What is your day-to-day beauty routine? Oh heck. Here’s where it ALL COMES OUT! So try not to judge me….but, I don’t shower in the mornings weekdays and sometimes go a day without. I know I know. Stinky mole I hear you say! I HAVE to shower at night or sometimes midday. It’s the only way and I see no point showering before going to the gym {which I do 5 out 7 days a week}. But before the gym I do brush my hair {most of the time}, brush my teeth {always}, apply some sort of moisturiser usually with a tint, I powder-puff a touch of bronzer {to look alive}, on goes a lick of mascara {usually over the top of the last load} and a smudge of chubby stick or gloss on the lips. Ta-dah! No one knows my secret, until now. And needless to say I love me some perfume!

7. Where do you get your eyebrows waxed? I don’t! I have gone full circle. I was a teen of the 90s and we were all about the plucking and the thin brows. Dammit fashion has changed. Duchess Kate has really had a helping hand in bringing back the lovely dense brows. Since I have waxed them off since I was 17…. I hardly have any left but now I want that hair to frame my face and I’ve getting help. I have been visiting Ali Price Makeup because she is a brow-expert! Ali has given me some brow extensions {yep it’s a thing!} to change the shape of my eyebrows! Pretty amazing. I like that I am no longer waxing and I am embracing the fuzz!
8. Where do you take your child/ren that’s not too expensive {as in an outing/ it could be FREE}? Old Parliament House is the world’s best kept secret for parents! It is free and there is lots to do for kids of all ages. You also get the added bonus of feeling like a “smug mum” for taking somewhere so wholesome, privileged and educational. The best bit is, there’s a café {OPH Café}, so everyone is chipper.
9. Where do you take your child/ren when it is cold and wet outside? We have a Questacon Membership. If you live in Canberra it really is an excellent investment. $160 will get your family of 2 adults and 3 children, a year’s membership which includes entry and discounts at the shop and cafe. I often meet my mummy friends {who also have memberships} after school or on a wet Saturday afternoon when the kids need to burn off some energy.

10. What do you love most about raising a family in Canberra? I love the seasons! All of them. In Summer its hot. Autumn provides a brilliant colour show. Winter is cold and I like seeing people embrace the Winter fashions. In Spring we have the best flower display and the world’s best hay fever season! Ok so maybe the hay fever thing isn’t such a selling point but there are drugs to really help combat the allergies these days. The seasons are mood and activity changers, giving family-life a wide range of diversity throughout the year. Plus, the easy-to-drive-around thing. That alone is a keeper!
