I’d like to introduce you to Mel – my first Mama, in my Canberra Mummies Series. Mel is not only an awesome Mama {who I met whilst I was at a friend’s engagement party and then proceeded to find out that we were placed in the same Mother’s Group when our eldests were born}, but also an amazing photographer. You can check out some of her wedding and portrait photography here.
I emailed Mel the questions and she got back to me straight away {which was really nice}. So here are her answers along with some really sweet shots of her and her daughter:
1. What’s your favourite café to go to with children?
Ricardo’s in Jamison, great food and service, high chairs and a playground right next to it!
2. Where do you go in Canberra to have a little ‘ME TIME’?
Gungahlin Pool or walk around the lake.
3. What is your child/rens favourite meal?
4. What is your ‘go-to’ recipe when there is pandemonium in your house?
Spaghetti Bolognese.
5. When you can’t get dinner on the table, where do you order takeaway from?
Chinese in Dickson, usually Dickson Dumpling House take away pack 1!
6. What is your day-to-day beauty routine?
Just wash my face with water and Sukin facial moisturiser and Palmers coco butter for all other moisturising. I also use a make up brand called Ere Perez which is all natural makeup. I try to avoid brands with parabens and SLS or too many unnatural ingredients.
7. Where do you get your eyebrows waxed?
Elysium in Yarralumla.
8. Where do you take your child/ren that’s not too expensive {as in an outing/ it could be FREE}?
Giggle and Wiggle at the Library, I like to find different local parks too or we will just go for a walk around a new place.
9. Where do you take your child/ren when it is cold and wet outside?
Local library or Play up at Parliament House.
10. What do you love most about raising a family in Canberra?
It’s so easy to get around and we have great places to take kids of all ages to enjoy.
Have you had professional photos taken of your little ones? Do you regularly take family photos? Do you get in the photos with your children? Do you have any Mama tips or hacks to share?
