The Eat.Drink.Blog conference would not have been possible without the generous support of the amazing Canberra sponsors/producers/providers. I am astounded that our ticket was only $149 for the entire weekend – I think I got that amount of value out of The Hamlet alone {not to mention the outstanding dinner at A.Baker}. It was extremely well organised, but also all those who were involved were extremely generous.
You can find a full list of all the all the sponsors here. But I thought that I would give the 5 standout producers/providers some extra special love in this little post.
ONE. Chasing Mr Morris
Now, I thought that everyone was extremely generous during the launch of Eat.Drink.Blog at The Hamlet, but I would love to give a special shout out to Chasing Mr Morris who popped by with not one, not two, but all of his delicious doughnuts for us to try {it’s just a shame that I didn’t have enough room in my tummy to get through them all}. With everyone poo pooing sugar and bacon {come on, don’t take away my bacon}, it is nice to know that you can pop down to Chasing Mr Morris and enjoy a special treat like this. Because that’s what they are special treats.
On the second day of the Eat. Drink. Blog. Conference we were given the opportunity to hit up the delicious vendors at Westside Acton Park. Now Miss Vans had put on a sweet little deal for the attendees that consisted of a meal and a drink under our set meal ticket. If you like Vietnamese, then I recommend that you hit up Miss Vans. They have a central menu consisting of phở (beef noodle soup), bánh mì (Vietnamese sandwich) & bún (Vermicelli noodle bowls), as well as offering a weekly rotating “specials” menu, where one featured dish is sold in addition to the regular menu. These dishes could include items such as Vietnamese pork & lemongrass soup (Bún bò Huế), chicken congee (Cháo gà), Vietnamese chicken rice, sticky rice & grilled chicken, pad thai, springrolls & stuffed chicken wings … my mouth is watering just thinking about it!
THREE. Poachers Pantry
Just when you think that you don’t have any more room for food, they bring out afternoon tea. There were a delicious array of smoked meats from Poachers Pantry on offer and I just couldn’t say no. I also loved the beautiful tea towel that they contributed to the gift bags for all of the Eat.Drink.Blog participants. I mean, everyone knows that I love a good tea towel – and the one from Poachers Pantry was extra large and thick and super absorbent.
FOUR. Six 8 Coffee Roasters
After a big night {or at least, it was a big night for a Mummy who never has more then 2 glasses of wine and is in bed by 9pm} at A.Baker – it brought a huge smile to my face to see the wonderful people from Six 8 Coffee Roasters on Sunday morning. They made me a delicious soy latte with their amazing coffee roaster machine and it got me pumped for the big day ahead.
FIVE. Two Before Ten
My last stop on my Eat. Drink. Blog journey was at Two Before Ten. It was awesome to be able to find this hidden gem so close to home {and also so wonderful to have the opportunity to sit and chat with so many other wonderful Canberra Bloggers}. The team at Two Before Ten gave us an awesome demonstration of the coffee roasting process and gave us all a bag of coffee to take home. The coffee is really good – so good that I headed back the very next week with my husband and the kids. Mr Moo sat and watched the coffee roasting process for 10 minutes, you couldn’t tear him away.
Did you attend Eat. Drink. Blog? What where some of your favourite providers/producers from the weekend? Where do you think Eat. Drink. Blog should be held next year?
