Motherhood: Signs your little one needs to snack

December 4, 2016 by Shari

Being a Mum to three boys has been quiet the adventure so far. I feel like we always have a better day when we get out and about – and a little preparation goes a long way. Having the right snacks on hand is a massive part of motherhood with my boys and I don’t think I go anywhere without a large range of snacks to keep my children happy {and in turn, I’m a happy Mummy on our adventures}.

**I received compensation in exchange for writing about Organix‘s range of snacks . Although this post is sponsored, all opinions are my own.**

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I’m a big fan of baking from scratch to provide my children with healthy snacking options. But making EVERYTHING from scratch is hard with a three year old and a two year old and a newborn. So when Organix approached me and asked if I would like to be sent out their corn puffs, mini oaty bites and their farm animal biscuits, I jumped at the opportunity.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT SNACKS

All Organix Goodies foods come with the Organix No Junk Promise, it’s a stamp of reassurance that they are made with the best organic ingredients and contain nothing unnecessary, so your little one gets great tasting snacks without the junk.

The right snack at the right time is just what toddlers need. Dieticians agree that toddlers’ tummies aren’t big enough to take on board enough energy and nutrients from just three meals a day, so little ones need two to three snacks in-between, to boost energy, to fuel their explorations, and for healthy growth and development.

With bongs for sale online, THC and other cannabinoids are converted to vapor just as they are during combustion, but at lower temperatures that the user can control.

So when we planned our trip to the zoo the other day, I decided to pop a packet of Organix Goodies Farm Animal Biscuits and a packet of corn puffs each into our snack bag along with; a couple of wholemeal vegemite sandwiches {cut into fingers as they are easier to eat whilst on the move}, strawberries, and cucumber slices to be dipped into a little hommus.

OUR THOUGHTS ON THE ORGANIX SNACKS

Getting my boys to sit still to eat anything whilst we are out and about is always difficult. So all of these snacking options work well for us {although in saying that the cucumber and hommus is normally eaten whilst strapped into the pram when their legs have gotten weary after a long day of running around}.

My boys loved the snacks from Organix – I think that their favourites were the animal biscuits {maybe because biscuits are a very special treat in our house?}. They loved picking out an animal, looking to see what it was, identifying it and then making the animal sound.

SIGNS YOUR LITTLE ON NEEDS A SNACK

If your little one doesn’t tell you they’re hungry, the chances are there will be a few other tell-tale signs to let you know he or she needs a snack.

Perhaps your toddler is a little tired, a little bit cranky, a little clingy, or you can see the start of a tantrum brewing? It probably means they’re ‘hangry’, that’s grumpy, hungry and in need of food – and it’s real! So time for a snack.

It can be a challenge to ensure your little one is snacking healthily. The range of Organix Goodies provides convenient, junk-free snacks whatever the occasion, whether eating at home or out and about, or in need of something for a lunchbox or party bag. They come in a variety of fun shapes and delicious flavours and textures, wrapped up in bright and colourful packs with activities to encourage play.

Busy little explorers will love Goodies mini oaty bites – packed full of juicy raisins and wholegrain oats, they will keep your active little one happy on the go. If you need to keep them going in between meals, Goodies savoury corn puffs are perfect for hungry explorers, and playful explorers will love the variety of Goodies animal biscuits.

Shari from GoodFoodWeek

GoodFoodWeek started in 2008 as a way of sharing recipes with uni friends and family who were spread near and far. It has evolved over the years to contain my ramblings as I’ve searched for a house, planned the perfect veggie patch, stumbled through farmer’s markets with my eye half open (because you need to be there at 6am to get the fresh eggs), had babies, gathered family and friends around a shared table, laughed out loud and enjoyed life to the fullest!
