Life: The Ultimate Rabbit Hole

January 21, 2017 by Shari

Guess what, for 2017, I am one of the new hosts of ‘The Ultimate Rabbit Hole’. I’m stoked to be part of this with such amazing bloggers and I can’t wait to see what those who wish to link up, link up each week. I’m trying to build up my blogger interactions again, after moving to Sydney and having the Z man. I actually met up with Sammie in person the other day which was great and I caught up with another group of bloggers on Friday. Doesn’t it feel wonderful when you meet with people of like minds?

If you’re new here – My name is Shari and I’ve just turned 30! I’ve been the creative director and social media manager behind the food/lifestyle blog GoodFoodWeek for 8 years. I’m a stay-at-home Mum of three little boys, who has left the corporate communications world to raise a family. 2017 is set to be a big year as we establish ourselves in Sydney and build our new business – Mr Perkins, in Bondi.

It has been SERIOUSLY hot all around Australia this week – So you might like to check out this post about things to do in Sydney with kids when it’s bloody hot. Or this post free ways to beat the heat in Brisbane may be of interest to you. Or the top five things to do in Melbourne when it is hot.

If you’re not from any of these major cities, I’d love to know where you’re from in the comments below, so I can tailor my Ultimate Rabbit Hole posts for you.

We hit up the zoo with my nieces using our Taronga Zoo pass! We love the GIRAFFES. Did you know, the Giraffe is the tallest mammal in the world, with even new-born babies being taller than most humans. Baby Giraffes can stand within half an hour and after only 10 hours can actually run alongside their family.Giraffes spend most of their lives standing up; they even sleep and give birth standing up. Check out some more amazing facts about giraffes here.

I can’t believe that Mr Moo started preschool! I’ll have a post all about it on the blog next week. But what about those of you who have children heading off to school this year – are you ready? Do you need any tips to help make buying school shoes easier? I also found a blog post about the top 14 Australian Teacher Blogs. And one of my favourite Australian Teachers who is also a blogger is Teacher Types – Early Learning Inspiration for Parents and Teachers.

Heading to a BBQ this week? Check out this post for 50 Grilling Recipes for an Epic Summer Cookout.

So seeing as this is my first post for 2017 hosting the Ultimate Link Up, I would love to know a little bit more about you too! Where are you from? What do you do? How have you escaped the heat this week? What is your favourite animal at the zoo? Do you blog? Long time reader, first time commenter? I’d love to hear from you!

Every Saturday morning, we will open up the rabbit hole link up for bloggers to add their link list posts or even just their favourite post {if you are not of the link list kind} for the week. Please link only one post. This makes it fair for everyone and allows more posts to be read.

Talking of reading, do try and pop along to say hello to some of  the other lovely linkers. This week, you can link up here or bob on over and say hello to Sammie from The Annoyed Thyroid, Jess from Confident Life or Paula from  The Geeky Shopaholic. It doesn’t matter where you add your link because it will appear on both blogs, as if by magic!  The link up will stay open until midnight the following Monday.

Alice is about to blow her mind! Grab a cuppa and attend this mad tea party. Add your “Link List” post or just your favourite post from this week…

Shari from GoodFoodWeek

GoodFoodWeek started in 2008 as a way of sharing recipes with uni friends and family who were spread near and far. It has evolved over the years to contain my ramblings as I’ve searched for a house, planned the perfect veggie patch, stumbled through farmer’s markets with my eye half open (because you need to be there at 6am to get the fresh eggs), had babies, gathered family and friends around a shared table, laughed out loud and enjoyed life to the fullest!
