Life: The Ultimate Rabbit Hole

May 13, 2017 by Shari

Morning Putchos! Welcome back to the Ultimate Rabbit Hole. I’ve had a busy week running around after we were in a car accident in Canberra. I was stationary at the lights and we were rear ended. Thankfully we weren’t injured too badly – I double checked with a trip to the GP straight after the accident – in fact the boys haven’t skipped a beat, but I still have aching shoulders!

The car accident did bring a little rain shower to my plans to add more ‘YAY’ into May, but the very next day my husband suggested that I purchase my lift and ski hire pass for our snow trip this year. He offered that I have the opportunity to ski, whilst he minds the two younger boys and our eldest goes to ski school.

We have taken the children to the snow before {being so close whilst we were living in Canberra} but with the children being so young, neither of us took up the opportunity to ski.

I’m so excited as I used to ski this year, I used to ski whilst I was at uni all the time. I actually even booked myself in for a few lessons – because it has been so long and it gives me the opportunity to meet people who I might like to ski with!

If you are also headed to the snow this season then you might be interested in checking out:

I thought that I might also share with you a few new foodie bloggers that have popped up on my radar this week:

I’m so glad that I have stumbled across Sydney food blogger Nagi. Famous for her creative and bold new ideas and for her fresh takes on favourites to shortcut preparation, cut down on cost and create food with style. Hands down, the photography captures every inch of flavour dripping from her recipes. Where this blog succeeds is in its mission statement. Breaking free of food blog norms, embracing simple recipes made from everyday ingredients, never leaving waste and embracing crowd-pleasing dishes to turn heads.

Another newcommer to the list is Souvlaki For The Soul. Peter started the blog back in 2007 and it has slowly been gaining momentum. Exlporing his Greek/Australian heritage through food and food photography, the blog features sharp and beautiful photos with a moody colour scheme; it’s a blog full of character. He also showcases great behind-the-scenes footage of how his images are put together. Take a look here.

If you’re more inclinded to follow your favourite foodie on social media, you might like to check out these instagram accounts; Gather and Feast, George Eats or Taline Gabriel.

Every Saturday morning, we will open up the rabbit hole link up for bloggers to add their link list posts or even just their favourite post {if you are not of the link list kind} for the week. Please link only one post. This makes it fair for everyone and allows more posts to be read.

Talking of reading, do try and pop along to say hello to some of  the other lovely linkers. This week, you can link up here or bob on over and say hello to Sammie from The Annoyed Thyroid, Jess from Confident Life or Paula from  The Geeky Shopaholic. It doesn’t matter where you add your link because it will appear on both blogs, as if by magic!  The link up will stay open until midnight the following Monday. Alice is about to blow her mind! Grab a cuppa and attend this mad tea party. Add your “Link List” post or just your favourite post from this week…

GoodFoodWeek started in 2008 as a way of sharing recipes with uni friends and family who were spread near and far. It has evolved over the years to contain my ramblings as I’ve searched for a house, planned the perfect veggie patch, stumbled through farmer’s markets with my eye half open (because you need to be there at 6am to get the fresh eggs), had babies, gathered family and friends around a shared table, laughed out loud and enjoyed life to the fullest!
