Life: The Ultimate Rabbit Hole – that’s a wrap.

June 24, 2017 by Shari

It is with great sorrow, that I announce that this will be the last Ultimate Rabbit Hole. I have loved hosting this link up over the last 6 months. It has been great to be part of such an awesome community and get to see each of you, linking up regularly each week. I’m sorry if I haven’t always gotten around to every blog post to leave a comment – but being a Mum to three young boys under four years of age has taken its toll on my ‘me time’.

So I want to put a whole lot of positivity out into the blogosphere with my last Ultimate Rabbit Hole post. Starting with; promoting this great breast feeding hoody from Mammojo. Breast feeding in public in Australia is NOT illegal – no matter what drivel you may see on Channel 7’s new show ‘Yummy Mummies. In fact, I think that it is well worth it to sign this petition to have it banned.

Every Mum deserves to be able to be wrapped up in a warm hoodie and I am stoked that this one from Mammojo is breast feeding friendly!

Lauren shared on her instagram account {@thudandpop} her dislike for the term ‘supermum’. And it was interesting to see the conversation that it created. Each Mum has ‘good’ moments and ‘bad’ moments throughout the day…motherhood is a tough gig, but in the end we love it.

Not the alpha mum, or the beta mum. Theta Mom is a blog for those who come a little further down the super-mum ranks and can honestly think of more than a few recent screw-ups to prove their position. In other words, it’s for most of us. This blog is all about balancing work and parenting roles, offering plenty of sound advice and a few funny anecdotes. It’s built a community to support working parents and allows members to write the occasional guest post for the blog.

We have just had the shortest day during winter and hopefully we can look forward to a little more sunshine each day from now on. But in saying that, winter isn’t going to disappear overnight – so I think we should all incorporate a little hygge into our homes. Haven’t heard about hygge yet?

It’s a Danish term defined as “a quality of cosiness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being.” Pronounced “hoo-guh,” the word is said to have no direct translation in English, though “cozy” comes close. And here, BabyMac shares how to get some hygge into your home.

And how could I not share with you this blog post from Bab’s at Patchwork Cactus – The Best Ever White Chocolate Brownie (Blondie) Recipe – For Real – if I was trying to create a blog post that spread positivity out into the blogosphere?

Thank you to my fellow hosts

Thank you to our regular linkers and those who left comments.

And with that, I leave you with this…

There’s a sad sort of clanging from the clock in the hall
And the bells in the steeple too
And up in the nursery an absurd little bird
Is popping out to say “cuckoo”
Cuckoo, cuckoo
Regretfully they tell us Cuckoo, cuckoo
But firmly they compel us Cuckoo, cuckoo
To say goodbye . . .
Cuckoo!
. . . to you
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night

Shari from GoodFoodWeek

GoodFoodWeek started in 2008 as a way of sharing recipes with uni friends and family who were spread near and far. It has evolved over the years to contain my ramblings as I’ve searched for a house, planned the perfect veggie patch, stumbled through farmer’s markets with my eye half open (because you need to be there at 6am to get the fresh eggs), had babies, gathered family and friends around a shared table, laughed out loud and enjoyed life to the fullest!
