Happy 4th birthday to my little dude. You’re 4 and I can’t believe the transformation that you’ve had – growing, gaining independence, developing your personality. You’ve blossomed through going to preschool and being with Daddy(after I returned to full time work). You are independent, head strong, athletic, have amazing concentration, are a quick learner and form solid friendships.
We changed swimming lessons and suddenly you were like a fish in water. You’ve grown in leaps and bounds over the year and you now love swimming at the pool and in the ocean (which makes me happy – as they are my favourite places to be).
If you are going anywhere – you are RUNNING. You’re quick off the mark and made a real impression at soccer training. Ball sports are you’re thing. You love kicking balls, throwing balls, shooting hoops, hitting balls with rackets and bats. And you’re coordinated too.
You loved skiing this year and almost caught up to your brother – who was independently riding the chair lift (pretty impressive mate, for a 3yr old).
Maybe you’re just super athletic – cause riding a bike with no training wheels also appeared to be your hidden talent (which drove your older brother crazy – cause it was his first pedal bike that you were riding). Maybe you’ll hang out with Uncle Jon at the bike track a little more as you get older, I’ll read the list of bikes for children to get you the best one, you deserve it.
You started preschool and I was worried about your separation anxiety, but you hit the ground running and we never had tears. Your favourite thing to do is ride the speedy bikes and you’ve formed beautiful little friendships with your classmates and your teachers. I’ve loved to see the artwork come home, hear about the science experiments that you have worked on and see your name become readable.
When we sit at the dinner table each night, you often ask ‘When can I talk?’ And I am glad that you want to share your day with us. You love pizza and pasta with meatballs. You love chicken schnitzel and cucumber sushi. Actually, you eat most things, but you drive me crazy when you say ‘My arms are tired! Can you feed me?’
You’re inquisitive and love reading stories and finding out more about dinosaurs. You’re favourite books include; ‘The Gruffalo’, ‘Piranhas don’t eat Bananas’, ‘Tough guys have feelings too’ and on Fridays when Nannie collects you from preschool, she brings new books to read to you (after a play in the park, a trip to the ice-cream shot, and maybe a game of boce or two). You love Paw Patrol, PJ Mask, Transformers and Ben 10.
You love cuddles and I hope that that never changes. ‘I love you 50 ,1 000 000 000, 100’ as you love to say. And I can wait to see you grow and develop before you go to school next year xox
