Social media and the world of blogging has given everyone a voice… Some have a voice that is sent out to the masses and some have a voice that is heard by few and some have a voice that is really only known to their Mum (Hi Mum if you’re reading this post).

Some people make it big and others – well they hope to make it big.
I’m in the hoping category right now!
I read an article on Mamamia the other day by Rosie Waterland (I am convinced that I’m a fraud. Anyone else? ) and I thought to myself… “Rosie you’re amazing – I wish I could write like you. I wish that I could get the traction that you do with your posts. I wish that I could be published on Mamamia. I wish that someone was paying me for my posts.’
I watch people like Carrie Bickmore on ‘The Project’ and I think about how reading the news was my dream job when I was in high school… and then life happened; I went to uni, met the man that I was going to marry, married him seven years later and now have a baby – and I think ‘will I ever make it to reading the news?’
And then I saw that Beth from BabyMac, Kerri from Life and Other Crises and Mrs Woog (who just recently came out at Kayte) from Woogsworld all feature in a weekly segment called ‘The Debrief’ on ‘The Daily Edition’.
Maybe I could ‘make it’ via that avenue?
But I still need to be more popular on this blog first…
I blog, I facebook, I tweet, I instagram – I’m connected… I think that I am resonating with a target audience (I hope that I am resonating with a target audience).
Heck, I hope that I’m more popular that Scotty and Nige from 104.7 here in Canberra. Those guys are truly rubbish!
I keep telling myself that these women I aspire to be like are older than me – give or take 10-20 years, so I just have to be patient … right? And then there is Rosie – who I think is younger than me and I think, ‘Ive got to get my bum into gear.’

Are you enjoying this blog? Are you sharing it on social media? Do you blog? How do people find you?

Get in my belly… I’ve been reading a lot abou Get in my belly…

I’ve been reading a lot about self love of late. I feel like there is so much self sacrifice when you’re a mother, and yet I am starting to realise that I need to love myself first to be a better mum and partner.

So here is to starting with something small for me. These @byronbaycookies are the business!!
Self love sometimes looks like just surging up lef Self love sometimes looks like just surging up leftovers and taking yourself to bed with a good book.
Living my best loft, devouring the end of the smok Living my best loft, devouring the end of the smoked trout…

And the toasted bagel thins I made using @thebagelco_australia which I order through @delishdeliveries (why isn’t there a chef’s kiss emoji??)
Still eating hot crossed buns - making the most of Still eating hot crossed buns - making the most of lazy mornings and short work weeks…

However, I still seem to feel that mum guilt. I mean, I think I need to do a little more than just follow @drsophiebrock (@smallbusinessgrowthclub has so many good things to say about Sophie)… am I doing enough? Are they happy? Am I creating good memories for them? Am I giving them good life skills and coping tactics? Am I creating enough one on one time with each of them?

I know I’m a people pleaser, a perfectionist (and some … scrap that… most people I know say I am also an over achiever). How do I flip my thinking to focus more on the positive and not be so critical of myself? As I don’t want to pass on this trait to my kids.

Again @delishdeliveries did the majority of the work in preparing the Bulgogi beef.

Boil the rice. Stir fry the beef. Toss some gem lettuce with black sesame seeds and sushi seasoning. Top it all off with kimchi.

Mine was store bought. @staceyclare_healthcoach have you ever made your own kimchi? Have you got a good recipe?

Shari from GoodFoodWeek

GoodFoodWeek started in 2008 as a way of sharing recipes with uni friends and family who were spread near and far. It has evolved over the years to contain my ramblings as I’ve searched for a house, planned the perfect veggie patch, stumbled through farmer’s markets with my eye half open (because you need to be there at 6am to get the fresh eggs), had babies, gathered family and friends around a shared table, laughed out loud and enjoyed life to the fullest!
