Can you believe it is December already? December people… OMG how time flies! I saw this post on Mel’s blog and thought ‘What a great idea’ – I’d love to incorporate that into my blogging schedule. And so I did and realised that I would only get one post in this year {crazy}.
So this will become a regular blog post in 2015 – I’m excited. It basically let’s you know what’s going on in my kitchen for the month.
I’ll be tell you what I am purchasing in terms of fresh produce {and from where if you’re a local Canberran and also want to get some}, what I am purchasing in terms of gluten free products {as my sister has been diagnosed as a Celiac and I’m helping her out with new recipes for her family}, what I am purchasing in terms of cooking implements and what not oh and anything I have been gifted*.
So let’s get to it…
In my December Kitchen…
I’m purchasing cherries! Cherry season is upon us and I just don’t think it’s Christmas time unless I am eating cherries and listening to Christmas carols {my husband may or may not enjoy the fact that I love to listen to Christmas carols for the entire month of December}.
…here is a link to the Christmas cherry salad recipe pictured above.
In my December kitchen…
Are a few bottles {okay a lot of bottles – I may have an addiction} of cold pressed juice. I love the selection at the moment from Autolyse in Braddon {that’s the juice bar, not the actual bakery…a little confusing but they do have two shop fronts a couple of metres apart} – and I love that I can drop in for 6 bottles and a loaf of bread. Their bread is also amazeballs.
In my December kitchen…
Is lots and lots of fish. I am loving economical fish like the Basa fillets I purchased from Coles and the Salmon fillets that I purchased from Aldi. I love thinking outside the square when I pick up fish… but most importantly I think we need to always choose fish that is sustainable {because wouldn’t it be so sad if our children were no longer able to eat fish!}.
…here is the recipe for my basa fishcakes.
In my December kitchen…
Is the ‘Has No’ gluten free range from Aldi. I am trying out these products because my sister has been diagnosed a Celiac and I’ve also been researching good products from Aldi to help with the family budget.
In my December kitchen…
There is panettone – because it just isn’t Christmas without one!
So, that’s my kitchen for this month. What’s in yours? Any newly acquired goodies?
