Life: Canberra’s Longest Lunch

March 17, 2015 by Shari

Did you know that almost 1 in 10 Australians suffer from asthma? I’m an asthmatic, my sister and my brother are asthmatic – and I am waiting to see if my children will be asthmatic. It will affect someone that you know because Australians suffer from the condition more than almost any other nation. But you can help the dedicated group of researchers who are desperately looking for a cure by eating lunch! Just eating lunch – how awesome is that?
And not just eating lunch anywhere, but in the unique Kingston Foreshore promenade, showcasing the best cuisines and local wines that Canberra has to offer!

The following traders have all jumped on board to wine and dine Canberra locals for the inaugural ‘Canberra’s Longest Lunch’:
  • 38 Espresso
  • CocoNine
  • Chong Co
  • Max Brenner
  • The Rum Bar
Sound up your alley??

It all starts on Tuesday 24th of March, at midday, with drinks and an entree at Rum Bar. Then diners will all move along the Foreshore to Coco Nineand Chong Co for some amazing Thai mains. Once done, Max Brenner will be providing dessert and diners can enjoy a coffee or tea at Espresso 38. At 3.30pm everyone is invited to relax at the Blue Cocktail Hour at Walt & Burley.

Tickets are $110.00 per head – great value for a fine food and drinks package – and can be purchased by by clicking here.

GoodFoodWeek started in 2008 as a way of sharing recipes with uni friends and family who were spread near and far. It has evolved over the years to contain my ramblings as I’ve searched for a house, planned the perfect veggie patch, stumbled through farmer’s markets with my eye half open (because you need to be there at 6am to get the fresh eggs), had babies, gathered family and friends around a shared table, laughed out loud and enjoyed life to the fullest!
