Recipe: Monday meal ideas – pop it in the oven

July 13, 2015 by Shari

When it is cold outside, there is nothing better than a delicious roast dinner. And I’ve got some great ideas for what you could pop into your oven this week! I’m sharing with you meal inspiration based on classic combinations like; beef and horseradish, pork and apples, chicken and tarragon, and I even have a vegetarian goat’s cheese and red onion option.

There is just something so delicious about these classic combinations {and I guess that’s what makes them the classics}. What is your favourite ‘classic’ flavour combination?

I’ve decided that I really want a fire place in our next home – because Canberra is just so cold! With that said, we have booked a little trip to the snow for next month. I guess if it’s going to be this cold we might as well have some fun with it and play in the snow {rather then just hibernating}.

Peppered beef and roast veggies
One pan roast pork {with tips for the perfect winter roast – no matter what protein you choose}
Spring Chicken {yes, I am aware that it is Winter}
Cheese and Onion pudding

What are some of your favourite meals to just pop in the oven? Are you a beef, pork, lamb or chicken roast dinner lover? Do you make your gravy from scratch? Have you tried a GoodFoodWeek recipe lately? Remember to grab a snap shot and post to instagram with the hashtag #goodfoodweek.

GoodFoodWeek started in 2008 as a way of sharing recipes with uni friends and family who were spread near and far. It has evolved over the years to contain my ramblings as I’ve searched for a house, planned the perfect veggie patch, stumbled through farmer’s markets with my eye half open (because you need to be there at 6am to get the fresh eggs), had babies, gathered family and friends around a shared table, laughed out loud and enjoyed life to the fullest!
