Oh my goodness, I can’t believe my baby is turning one. Where did that year go? It certainly did go much quicker the second time around. I also can’t believe that I was 3 months pregnant when Mr Moo hit this milestone {what was I thinking?}. Happy Birthday my Little Dude, what a ride we have had so far with you!
At six months, you decided that sleeping through just wasn’t your thing any more – I think I might have jinxed myself as you haven’t slept through the night since 6 months. You also made the distinction between my boob and the dummy and decided that the dummy wasn’t for you either. This has made the last 6 months a little tougher then I would have liked – but you’re lucky that you are one cute baby {and we kept you around never-the-less}.
By this stage, your brother was well and truly onto solids, but solids just weren’t your thing either {some times Daddy and I wonder what your thing actually is}. We tried you on farex, pumpkin, avocado and banana at 6 months – but seeing as you weren’t interested, I pushed starting solids back.
At eight months, you cut your bottom two teeth – they seemed to appear without causing you much grief at all. This is not the case with the next group of teeth that are coming through – we’ve had a few rough nights with you {at 10 months}.
At nine months, you started cruising around holding onto everything and anything. It was like you saw everyone around you doing it, so you just couldn’t wait to be doing it too. Unlike your brother, you were not careful and often tried to literally run before you could walk. I thought that you might like to try solids again, as you were using up so much energy running around and I wondered if I had enough milk to sustain you… It appears that I did, because solids once again went down like a led balloon.
You also say ‘cino’ – as in ‘babycino’. It isn’t because you drink them, but because your brother requests them all the time. You certainly have a very different vocab to your big brother when he was the same age.
At ten months, you were well and truly walking. You also learnt to clap your hands and you can bounce up and down {standing up} when music comes on. You love music and I think that you are also trying to sing along to some of your favourite songs.
We took you on your first trip to the snow. They say that babies nap better in cooler weather – and ain’t that the truth with you! You took a 2hr nap in my arms whilst we were watching Daddy and Mr Moo ran the tube and toboggan.
You finally got over your hatred of the bath and the shower – you’re now the happiest little person I know in the bath. But you hate getting dressed. We can’t wait until the weather warms up and you can just run around in your nappy all day/everyday.
At eleven months, you love dogs as much as your older brother and have master the word ‘dog’. You also love to ride the hobby horse with your brother and bounce up and down like you’re riding a horse when your brother presses the galloping sound button for you.
I have given baby led weaning more of a chance with you. You seem to be even more independent then your brother {is that is possible}. You don’t want me to feed you anything with a spoon and so are happiest when we let you feed yourself. Your favourite foods include; banana, avocado, steamed zucchini, strawberries, grilled fish and corn on the cob.
You are definitely ‘people person’ – you love when there is a crowd. People always say ‘I never hear him cry’. And Daddy and I laugh because you are a very unsettled baby at night, but during the day when we are running around, you are in your element.
Happy First Birthday my Little Dude. We are so glad that you are part of our family. I can’t wait to see you grow and bring so much love and laughter into our lives. I wish you all the health and happiness in the world, my special little boy!

Chronicling my pregnancy and motherhood journey is the main reason I started my blog, so very happy to hear that you’ve done the same and you’re loving it 🙂

I think it is super cute – but I am bias 😉 Are you attending Eat.Drink.Blog Karrine?
Karrine Beasley says
No, I thought about it but I just don’t think I’m involved enough in the food side of blogging to justify it at the moment. I also bought a ticket to Smaggle’s Little Blog Big Canberra Workshop in November so decided that was my big blog event for the end of the year (plus I have a weekend long photography workshop booked in October – so i’m a tad over budget haha). Can’t wait to read everyone’s reviews and recaps of Eat. Drink. Blog though, looks like it’s gonna be a big one! 🙂
