March – where did you come from? I have really enjoyed getting back into my weekly routine {and so have the boys}. I find when I have more on my plate, I am more organised. And so, I have managed to get back into getting to Epic Farmer’s Markets each week. I love walking around and seeing what is available each week. I will be so sad when the giant punnets of blueberries are no longer available {the Little Dude has been eating the equivalent of a supermarket punnet each morning}.
As you may or may not be aware, Celia from Fig Jam and Lime Cordial is no longer hosting ‘In My Kitchen’ and has handed the baton over to Maureen at The Orgasmic Chef. Check out Maureen’s blog to see who else in joining in to the ‘In My Kitchen’ link up.
In my March kitchen…
We have lots and lots of corn. Boiled or cooked on the BBQ we have been having corn practically every second night as it is such a hit with the boys. I even wrapped some up in foil to BBQ at the pool one afternoon – unfortunately, the pool was closed after swimming lessons as someone had poo’d in the pool {thankfully, not one of my little ones}.
In my March kitchen….
Eggplant chips are definitely on the menu. If you haven’t heard about Stacey from Veggie Mama’s Crispy Baked Eggplant Chips with Sweet Chilli Mayo then click on that link and do yourself a favour – seriously delicious. I spiced up my polenta mix with paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, pink salt, black pepper and a little sugar. There is just something about adding the 1/4 teaspoon of sugar to the mixture that takes it to another level.

We’ve been {or at least the boys have been} taste testing the Fangks sugar free chocolate milk mix. Now, I’m not really into flavouring the boy’s milk, when they will happily drink plain milk. But Daddy loves to give them a special treat on a Sunday morning and so this is a great sugar free alternative.
In my March kitchen…
The bunches of basil {and all herbs really} from the Farmer’s Market are as big as my head. You might almost mistake them for a beautiful bunch of flowers that you could pop in a vase and display {actually, I wouldn’t mind my house smelling like a big bunch of basil}.
In my March kitchen…
I’ve got a few too many of these Boost Juice farm animal cups. Mr Moo is a big fan of a boost juice – although we normally get a freshly squeezed apple, carrot, ginger, celery, beetroot juice. We have been stopping to get the odd mango magic in a special cup because the plastic cups do come in handy when you have young children around {and don’t want to offer them a glass cup}.
In my March kitchen…
I picked up a pot of Chris’ Smoked gouda, roasted almonds with a touch of parsley to try. I love a smoked cheese so I thought that I would give this dip a go. It seems that I have moved on from my ice-cream obsession and now have moved on to cheese. I wonder why I want so much dairy at the moment?
In my March kitchen….
I’ve been whipping up some interesting things using Date Vinegar {which I was gifted by the lovely people at Exotic Date}. If you think that these Middle Eastern inspired filo pastry parcels sound/look interesting, then stay tuned – I’ll be posting the recipe on the blog shortly.
What new things have you picked up and tried lately? Do you purchase new brands or do you stick with what you have tried and tested? Are you choosing to give yourself a special treat or two this year? Are you a sweet or savoury fan? What is your favourite type of cheese? Have you been to the Farmer’s Market lately? Anything interesting happening with you and your family in March?

Awesome for mastering the art of drinking from a straw and then a cup {and even having in your nappy bag when a cafe/restaurant only offers glass}.
