You might have been wondering about my sparadic posting of late {or you might have thought that I was in a bit of a blogging funk like Stacey over at Veggie Mama – and it seems from her post, a lot of other bloggers out there}. I was in a bit of a funk, but it was down to the fact that I have bloody morning sickness again – that’s right, I’M PREGNANT!
Round three can be sumed up so far by morning sickness and being extremely emotional. Sure, I was sick with Mr Moo for 16 weeks and again with the Little Dude until 20 weeks – but I feel like I wasn’t this emotional.
My husband turned around the other afternoon, after I almost vomited all over our kitchen floor, and exclaimed that this must be a girl as I was never this sick with the boys. I replied that he didn’t suffer the morning sickness, so he was quick to forget.
Maybe it is a girl, this baby normally waits until I have finished the night time routine and have settled everyone into their beds before it wants me to throw up.
There has {thankfully, so far} been no running through carparks, trying to avoid projectile spewing onto cars, like with Mr Moo. And I haven’t been laying on the bathroom floor each morning unable to move from the toilet, like with the Little Dude.
I’ve been a little afraid to put my thoughts and feelings down on the blog, as I have felt so emotional. I’ve been so angry at my inlaws for their lack of excitement towards this pregnancy – it is weird that someone doesn’t say ‘congratulations’, isn’t it?
And so I have been overthinking everything that I drafted, as I didn’t want to write the wrong thing. But I digress.
We are in the process of looking at a new car, as we won’t be able to fit the two carseats and a capscule into my current car. Although in saying ‘car’ it will probably be a van – as you can’t get three carseats across the backseat of any car and even when you have a seven seater 4WD, you can’t place a carseat in the backseats without having it updated and mechanically certified by an engineer. If you are looking for a new car, hop over to this web-site where we will able to find great deals.
And the hubby did mention that we might as well get a van, as he didn’t want to update my vehicle in another two years, if we have a fourth. Hang on mate, I haven’t even mastered three yet!
So big changes are coming and this is just the beginning – hopefully, I’ll be able to sit down and write about more of our changes in the next couple of days.
But for now… do you have any magical cures for morning sickness? Any tips on how to feel a little less emotional whilst pregnant {I cried through the entire movie ‘The Help’ the other night}? Do you think we will get the trifecta {i.e. three boys}? What car do you drive if you have a bigger family? Any tips on three under three and a half? I should be used to the sleep deprevation by the time the third arrives, right?

With my first I was never sick, Tamika was the easiest pregnancy/birth. With Jarvis I swear from the night he was conceived to the day I gave birth I vomited. Some things set me off more than anything, anyone with bad breath, who had been smoking, and or drinking, would elicit a vomit. General BO was another, try catching public transport. Yup vomited into a bag a few times. Even vomited in the bin a work one day. All very unpleasant.
Things that helped, small snacks often. I would have a ginger biscuit before I even got out of bed, or would vomit getting up. Ginger helped, each morning I would have a juice with some ginger in. Justin found me some hard ginger lollies in a Chinese shop. Sucking these throughout the day helped. Water, keep hydrated.
Emotionally with Jarvis I was a mess. I had two miscarriages before him and a massive bleed with him at 14 weeks. So I spent the entire 40 weeks fearful I would lose him. So stupidly I liked the sickness, my doctor told me it was a sign my hormones were good. Not sure if this is true or she told me to help appease my innate fear of miscarriage.
The most important thing is to look after yourself, after all you are doing THE most amazing thing. You are making a whole human.

Yes, I would agree on the ginger front. I find my worst ‘morning sickness’ is at night and I enjoy a hot cuppa of ginger, lemon and honey tea. I also find that soda water helps – anything with a little bit of fizz to it. Oh man and people who have cigerette breathe – BLAH!

Congratulations! I was super blessed with my pregnancy and didn’t experience any morning sickness so I can’t help you there sorry! Hope it passes for you quickly and you start to feel better soon x

What a blessing never to have had morning sickness! I must admit that my morning sickness this time around hasn’t been as bad as the other two, but maybe I just have to push on this time around {with an 18 month and 3 year old nipping at my heals there is no time to feel sorry for yourself}.

Congrats! I’m so excited for you. I cried through “The Help” and I can’t use pregnancy as an excuse! Here’s to feeling better soon and enjoying baking that bun in your oven!

Thanks Sammie. ‘The Help’ is a very emotional movie! And hopefully, when I move to Sydney we can meet in person and you can have a little cuddle of baby number three.

Congrats on baby three! I have three sons and love it, the eldest had JUST turned four when the youngest was born. The transition from 2 to 3 is easier than 1 to 2. By the way, we have a Toyota Kluger, 7 seater and comfortably fit the three seats on the back seat.
Shari from GoodFoodWeek says
Yes, my Mum as told me that the transition from 2 to 3 is easier then 1 to 2. So hopefully it all goes smoothly.
p.s. I tried commenting on your most recent post and I wasn’t able to bring up a place to actually comment. Not too sure what was going on – I tried to close and re-open the page a couple of times, but it didn’t seem to make a difference. But I wanted you to know that I really enjoyed your post on the eight ways that your marriage had changed in eight years.

Oh no to morning sickness, but OH YAY to your exciting news!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much, I’ve only vomited once this week – so things are looking up 😉

Shari, that’s fantastic news! Congratulations to you, hubby and the boys! I’m so sorry to hear that your in-laws didn’t react with excitement, though. That would really get to me too if I were in the same position so I can understand how you might be feeling about that. I really hope your morning sickness improves soon, too!
Shari from GoodFoodWeek says
Thanks Lisa – I think that a baby is a blessing. So many people try and try and try to have children and are unable to. I feel so blessed that I am the mother to two healthy boys and another baby on the way. It totally bemuses me that someone can not be happy about a baby, let alone a baby in your very own family – but I have to just let it go as I am so emotional at the moment as it is and it can just really get me down.

Congratulations Shari. I hope the morning sickness ends soon for you.

Thanks Gary – it a very exciting time, even if I do feel so sick. It should be gone in a couple of weeks, I’m almost half way.

How exciting! I sure hope you start feeling better soon though, girl! Especially with the big move coming up! xo
Shari from GoodFoodWeek says
Thanks Kristy – my husband just suggested that we move oursleves rather then getting a moving company to do it. I almost killed him!
