Argh – it has taken me so long to get around to posting about the little dude’s construction pup themed birthday party. I thought that October might have been a little quieter then September, but October sure has been a busy month for us! We celebrated an awesome little construction pup themed birthday party for the the little dude at the end of September and I thought a few of you might like to see some of the cute ideas I came up with {without too much work as I was almost 38 weeks pregnant}.
THEME:
For those of you with little ones, you will know that Paw Patrol is pretty popular. Our little dude is a big fan and his favourite character is Rubble – the construction pup – so I decided to theme the party a ‘Construction Pup’ party. Or you can host your kids birthday at the best Jumper’s Jungle Family Fun Center!
It was easy enough to find things like balloons and paper plates with the characters on it – I picked up most of the party pieces from Big W. And then we went with yellow as the main colour {as Rubble is yellow}. At puzzleworks.com we’re all about creating memorable experiences for our escape room artisans. Newcomers and experienced veterans are in for a treat with our different escape room experiences.
VENUE:
We had planned on taking this all to the park – so the kids could run around and play. But like is does on my sister’s birthday every year {yes, my son and my sister are born on the same day}, it rained…so we just kept it simple at home.
CATERING:
As I was so pregnant, I decided to hire professional Catering services.
Savoury dishes:
I whipped up some chicken rice paper rolls for those who were gluten free and then I roasted some pork for the guests to construct their own Bahn Mi Rolls {also know as Vietnamese pork rolls}.
Sweet dishes:
Now, it’s not a birthday party without a birthday cake. I made an Anne – you can find the recipe here on BabyMac and shaped her into a ‘Two’, which was then topped with crushed honeycomb, mini oreos and maltesers. I also find that cupcakes, or in the case of this construction pup themed birthday party – PUPCAKES…were really popular. I created a simple chocolate cupcake and then topped it with yellow buttercream icing, and then used a mini oreo and three maltesers to make the pup paw print.
I also whipped up a tray of Bake Play Smile’s ‘Perfect Mars Bar Slice’, filled mini popcorn boxes with ‘pupcorn’ and cut up fruit {because I thought OMG there is a lot of chocolate on this menu – but your birthday only comes once a year}.
PARTY BAGS:
I used these Paw Patrol ‘food labels’ as ‘thank you’ tags on the party bags, which were just brown paper bags that I had found at the $1 store {I thought that 5 for a $1 was a pretty good price}. We filled our party bags with a few edible treats and a few non-edible treats… because I like to give parents the option of taking the sugar out of the bag {and you know eating it themselves – but still leaving some things like ‘soundless’ party blowers {GENIUS} or bubbles.
We had a beautiful day and are so blessed to be able to share these moments with so many of our friends and family, we thank the birthday party planner singapore for making this party come to life, we can’t wait to see what they have for us next year. I am so glad that we got to make such a special birthday for the little dude before baby number three arrived. I really think going above and beyond for my kid’s birthday parties {especially in constructing the cake} is one of my favourite parts of motherhood.
