Oh my goodness, it is November and people are already talking about Christmas… And I am thinking, what could I possibly purchase for my third son for Christmas – it’s not like he needs clothes or toys {but then again, he doesn’t want a life of hand-me-downs}? Got some good ideas for me? Please leave them in the comments section below. Yes, that’s right the Z man has arrived and I will hopefully get his birth story published ASAP, but I have included a beautiful photo of him and all of his hair for those who are interested in meeting him.
In all honesty, he is probably the biggest thing to be in my kitchen this month… as I pop him in the bouncer near me or carry him in the baby carrier, so that I have two hands to be able to prepare meals and snacks for the older two {because let’s face it, my boys are always HUNGRY}.
Guess what people, Liz from Bizzy Lizzy’s Good Things has now taken over the link up and is hosting! Liz and I go way back on the Canberra blogging scene so it is great to see her picking up the hosting duties – and I’m just so excited to see everyone’s IMK posts this month.

I’ve been playing around with how to incorporate the delicious products from Organix that I was sent out to trial. Their new products include delicious fruit purees made with 100% organic fruit, each little pot is one of a child’s 5 a day. These pots are perfect for encouraging your little one to explore taste and texture and helping to build confidence and enjoyment with food.
Along with a delicious range of baby biscuits – specially developed with baby in mind. Their unique ring biscuit is perfect as baby’s first organic biscuit. The easy to hold ring shape has been created for little hands to get to grips with. Their biscuits contain nothing unnecessary, with no artificial flavours or sweeteners and made from wheat flour and mixed with grape juice and so all the flavour comes from the fruit.
You’ll find them available in banana, vanilla and strawberry flavour. The boys actually cracked open the strawberry ones as soon as our Sun Basket delivery arrived and we took them with us to the park as part of our picnic. They were delicious.

I’m whipping up lots of recipes from Carrie at Our Spiced Kitchen! One of our favourite recipes have been her ‘Spiced pumpkin and date caramel spread’ with fresh fruit and lots of trimmings!
Here is her recipe, if you also think it looks delicious…
Put into a pot 6 medjool dates ripped in half, 2 1/2 cups of grated pumpkin (choose a sweeter variety I love Jap), 1 1/2 tsp vanilla, a cinnamon stick or 2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1/2 tsp ginger, 1/2 tsp mixed spice, 1 cup of water. Bring to boil on med/high temp 8 out of 10. Stir regularly until water is gone, add in a heaped tea spoon of coconut oil and keep stirring another 5 mins or so till mix has thickened even further. Then pull out cinnamon stick and blitz up using stick blender till really smooth. Let it cool a little.

I thought that I would cut myself some slack in terms of making everything from scratch – and I was extremely excited when I saw these Proud & Punch ice blocks in the supermarket. The boys love an ice block for a snack, and I normally make my own using a mix of veggie and fruit juice. I knew that these would be a hit, when they combined the boys flavour flavours of apple, beetroot, carrot and ginger.

I’ve been experimenting with oats. I’ll be posting some of my greatest oats creations through November…but I oats aren’t the only cereal that I have been playing around with in the morning. I have also been participating in the Cereal 4 Brekkie #mybrekkiebowl challenge on Instagram.
A new Galaxy Research study has shed light on Australia’s obsession with the brekkie bowl, finding two million Australians posted social shots of their breakfast cereal at least once a week – almost 400 million breakfast bowl posts a year.
If whipping up your own brekkie bowl isn’t up your alley. Then you should check out my second ‘newborn’ – our new business in Bondi, Mr Perkins.
Mr Perkins is based on a concept of fostering more mindful eating, by focusing on quality soups made with heart and integrity.
We advocate the powerful healing components of a fresh produce diet, which are always found in our seasonal range of soups and porridges, and while it’s easier than ever to fall into a habit of convenient but ultimately under-nourishing foods, we believe that ‘fast’ and ‘nourishing’ can be one and the same.
Our recipes embrace a variety of cultures and regions that include a delicious lineup of flavours centred on holistic, seasonal eating that will blow your mind!

I’ve really been enjoying the delicious treats from Franjo’s Kitchen. As I mentioned in my October post, Fran and Jo are passionate about creating a healthy snack business for new mums and their families and excited about what the future holds.
I have moved onto their lactation biscuits which are delicious!

I’ve also been having lots of tea from the beautiful Mamas who created Mama Body Tea. Mama Body Tea has created an organic and caffeine free herbal tea range to assist women and their babies the healthy and natural way. The Mama Body Tea range is specially formulated to provide support and comfort to women and their babies, through pregnancy, breastfeeding & beyond.
