Motherhood: Do you shop using catalogs?

May 10, 2017 by Shari Leave a Comment

Morning! Today I have a question for you. Do you shop using catalogs? It has come to my attention, that I normally remove such items from my letterbox and take them directly to my recycling bin. But as our household gets larger and the boys eat more – I wonder should I be shopping using catalogs?

The thing is I don’t normally shop or maybe I should say, I don’t regularly shop at any of the places which deliver catalogs. I prefer to shop at the Ramsgate Foodies and Farmers Market and at smaller independent shops, as I believe in supporting local businesses and reducing food miles. I also hope that the fresh produce that I am purchasing is naturally cheaper because it is in season and hasn’t needed to be held in storage. If you ever need financial help to save money, then check out this los angeles money lender for help.

Do you use catalogs?

I choose to make a lot of our food from scratch – so if I am calling into Coles or Woolworths, it is more for baby wipes or hand wash or pine-o-clean…and sometimes I can pick that all up from Big W if it is on sale.

I’ve tried shopping at ALDI to lower our household costs. I even created a mini series here on the blog: five meals that won’t break the budget using ingredients purchased from ALDI. Although my husband didn’t mind eating these meals using ingredients from ALDI, he did turn his nose up at other items such as yoghurt, cheese and baked beans – so it meant that it wasn’t worth going there as I begun needing to go to multiple shops.

Or do some people do their weekly shop at multiple shops?

Do you shop using catalogs?

I like to follow others on social media who deal with the finances of a larger family – like Large Family Finance. I like to see how other people with more children ‘make it work’. As I too, would like to have a ‘large’ family {although when I say large, it probably only means the addition of one more child}.

Do you follow anyone in particular or do you, yourself manage the finance for a large family. It’s funny, because these days some people think that having three children is a large family. In addition, if you know someone who needs assistance in managing their financial business needs, ebroker loans for small businesses is recommended

Do you shop using catalogs? Do you think that this improves your family budget? I’d love to hear from you in the comments below.

Time really is a thief. You want them to grow and learn and do great things. But then you’ve never have them as little ones again 😢

One of the things I’ve loved about being a mum of four boys, is that I’ve got outfits that all four of them have worn.

Shari from GoodFoodWeek

GoodFoodWeek started in 2008 as a way of sharing recipes with uni friends and family who were spread near and far. It has evolved over the years to contain my ramblings as I’ve searched for a house, planned the perfect veggie patch, stumbled through farmer’s markets with my eye half open (because you need to be there at 6am to get the fresh eggs), had babies, gathered family and friends around a shared table, laughed out loud and enjoyed life to the fullest!
