Another month, another ‘In my kitchen’ post. I feel like these are creeping up on me quicker and quicker as the year passes. I thought that it might have initially happened when I returned to full time work, and then it might have plateaued – as I found my ‘normal’ – but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
I’ve kept up cooking the majority of the family meals – my husband cooks chicken schnitzels, cutlets, spaghetti and roast dinners pretty well now. Although he still has a few issues with the oven – nothing as bad as that first cremated roast dinner.
I thought that we might have had to lean on take-away more during the month, but thankfully – for both our waistlines and our bank account – we have managed the juggle of cooking dinner most nights.

You might not think of the last month of Autumn as the perfect time to highlight a salad product, but I am challenging you to think outside of the box. I’ve been creating tasty salads using crispy kale and roasted veggies – topping them with this exciting find at my local Supabarn.
When I was at home, I had the time to create something similar from scratch – but this is the perfect ‘off-the-shelf’ option for those with little time. Pop it on top of any salad to take it to the next level.

I’m a sucker for a sheet-pan dinner also known as a tray bake. Some of my favourites include; chicken and leek tray bake, chicken and chickpea tray bake, or barramundi and kale tray bake. Don’t miss this new recipe for another fish based (salmon) tray bake coming to the blog soon.

We have been gifted this delicious green tea from China. A friend of my husband brought this back from china during a work trip.

There is delicious cheese boards. Our favourite cheese are complimented by Australian grapes – which are perfection this season. I am normally a green grape fan, but I think that I have changed my mind this season – and have switched to seedless red grapes. They are super crisp and not as sweet as the green grapes.

I’ve been whipping up this new crowd pleaser – a simple salad of avocado, artichoke, lemon and parsley. A great accompaniment to fish or chicken cooked on the BBQ. We are hoping that there are a few more weeks of BBQ weather left before winter hits.
