Welcome back to ‘In my Kitchen’ – the monthly link up I join in on for all great things in your kitchen. I have had some great things in my kitchen over the past couple of weeks – even if my dinner, bath, bedtime routine has been extremely hectic without the husband on hand. It is really hard to get a three year old and a two year old to sleep if you have an unsettled newborn. He might not be unsettled every night, but when it happens I definitely need a special treat for myself when everyone is finally asleep.
In saying that, the Z man will be four months old in February. Can you believe it? Because I can not. Just two more months and he’ll be wanting to try some solids too {or maybe he will be like the little dude and refuse all food until 11 months old, when he will just sit up at the table and demolish two whole sarma}.
And with that, I can’t wait to share with you what I’ve got in my home kitchen this month…
If you are interested in seeing what other lovely bloggers have in their kitchen this month, then head over to Liz from Bizzy Lizzy’s Good Things who is now hosting this great link up! Liz and I go way back on the Canberra blogging scene so it is great to see her picking up the hosting duties – and I’m just so excited to see everyone’s IMK posts this month.

…Mummy has been enjoying this Connoisseur Matcha Green Tea with White Chocolate Waffle Cone. I love the matcha flavour, although I would like the white chocolate amped up a little more.

…You’ll find me whipping up my own hommus – because it’s just so simple. I love beetroot hommus and it was the perfect accompaniment to this delicious Middle Eastern inspired plate I created. I’ll be sharing the recipe for this, this month.

…I just can’t get enough off this delicious olive oil from Luca Ciano. We met Luca when we collaborated with him on our new business Mr Perkins. He created some delicious pasta recipes and seasonal soup recipes for us to serve. This olive oil is something special. Definitely not something that I would cook with – it’s more for salads, sauces and dipping your bread into {you know, when you indulge in bread}.

…I’ll be trying out this turmeric blend from Gold Grind. Turmeric lattes are certainly on trend at the moment. Turmeric is definietly a on trend ‘super food’. If you’d like to try and create your only, gently warm the almond or coconut milk in a small saucepan. Do not boil. Add turmeric, ginger and cinnamon. Next, combine the coconut oil with the mixture and gently heat together until melted.

…I’m still in love with oats. I’ve been whipping up my porridge with salt pears and pistachio and sesame sprinkle or my peach and ginger overnight pots – because I want to make the most of the summer fruit before it is gone. What about the apricots at the moment, they are something special!
