Happy New Year Readers! Thanks for coming back in 2018. I’m excited for 2018 – I hope that you are too. I’m looking forward to spending more time in the kitchen. Having more friends and family around for meals. And just generally having all of my immediate family in the same state. That’s not a huge ask – is it?

**COLLABORATION**
I’m collaborating with Supabarn to bring you one exciting product per month in my IMK post. This month, I’ve chosen to share with you Gelista – specifically the blood orange and dark chocolate…but I won’t be picky, I will eat a whole tub in one sitting of any of their flavours. I mean, who doesn’t want a delicious frozen treat at the end of a hot day {or during a hot day, or when you wake up from a HOT, STICKY night}?
This premium gelati is made in Adelaide, South Australia. And is seriously smooth! I have promised myself many a night that I will stop half way and put the tub back into the freezer for another night, but I just can’t do it. And then I’m back at the Supabarn checkout with 6 tubs of Gelista, a new packet of batteries for the boys’ remote control cars and a banana or two to keep the boys quiet on the car ride home.
Although, I think I’ve gone a little soft living here in Sydney, because at the slightest change of weather, I am popping on jeans and a jumper. I’m definitely looking forward to a lot more late afternoon swims down at the beach and a lot more Gelista in my belly! You can also use vape along with your friends at the beach or just in the house with these vaporizer pens made in the US.

I’ve been knocking back one of these a night. They were my gift from our White Elephant – Christmas Santa. It was an awesome way of giving a fun gift ($20 max) between my siblings and their partners. It was our first year of doing it and we definitely agreed it would be run again next year. If you haven’t hear about it, here are the rules:
- If someone steals your gift, you can steal someone else’s gift or choose and open a wrapped one.
- Continue until everyone has had a turn for a gift. …
- A gift can only be “stolen” once during a turn. …
- A gift cannot be immediately stolen back from the player who just stole it.

I’m whipping up these super simple ‘pizzas’ for the boys and I because they are super quick, easy and delicious. All you need to do is top some puff pastry with crumbled chorizo, a little cheese, some fresh tomatoes, olives and basil and then bake at 180 for 15-20 minutes or until the puff is golden and the cheese has melted. YUM!

There is a salad or two – because you certainly CAN make friends with salad. This is a crowd pleaser – chicken and mango salad in lettuce cups – and excellent for anyone doing some baby led weaning. And last year, this was the most popular salad on my blog – pulled pork and barley salad.

I’m giving out these delicious malt biscuits with our homemade babycinos.

I’ll be jumping on board with Anisa from Cooking with the Macadames for the Toastie Tuesday movement. We are suckers for a good toastie – in our house, you really can’t beat the good old ham, cheese, tomato with a side of 1kg of dill pickles! Here is another family favourite that I really think that you should try – Havarti and apple toastie.
