Motherhood: Fantastic Services

I had grand plans for when I was due to start my maternity leave. I was ready to nest. I was going to CLEAN. Like seriously clean, in the two weeks of maternity leave I’d blocked out before he was due to arrive.

I’d made a list of all of the cleaning jobs that I would do, you know the ‘one thing’ kinda jobs that Beth from BabyMac blogs about. Oh, how I was going to tick off some of my ‘one thing’ jobs before the birth of my fourth.

I was going to CLEAN! Clean the baseboards in the kitchen, dust all the skirting boards, wipe all those little hand prints off the mirrored built-ins, clean the oven, dust all of the photo frames and the fake plant (cause I can’t seem to keep anything living alive – well, except for children), wipe out all of the cupboards in the kitchen, clean the windows, more general dusting (I never seem to get around to it), oh and wash the washing machine.

Then that all went out the window when our fourth son arrived over two weeks early (and I was technically still at work). Heck, I hadn’t even got around to washing all the newborn clothes yet.

And here is the thing, you can never get on top of all the things when you have a newborn – because NEWBORN!

So I was so excited when Fantastic Services reached out to me and asked me if I would like to have some general cleaning completed – whilst I literally took the little boys to the park and out for babycinos.

I’d been in such a rush that morning. Breakfast and breast feeding, followed by getting everyone dressed, packing lunchboxes and back packs, then primary school drop off, then preschool drop off. I raced back to find the lovely gentleman from Fantastic Services on my front porch – prompt and ready to start at 9:30am.

Oh what a sight for sore, sleep deprived eyes!

I quickly walked the gentlemen through the house and let them know the areas that I thought needed a little ‘extra love’. And then we were off, free for the morning.

I came back two and a half hours later to a pristine home, all the little jobs and the general cleaning had been completed.

All the housekeepers and housemaids are fully trained and experienced. They are pre-screened and interviewed prior to joining the Fantastic Services team. The house cleaners are also comprehensively insured against damages. They are qualified to operate industry-powered cleaning equipment and tools. The operatives closely follow company approved procedures and employ eco-friendly cleaning techniques, as well as child and pet safe detergents in their work.

Regular domestic cleaning from Fantastic Services includes:

  1. Vacuuming and mopping of all hard floors.
  2. Vacuuming of carpeted areas and rugs.
  3. Dusting of furniture, window sills and all surfaces throughout the house.
  4. Polishing of mirrors, pictures, furniture glass tops.
  5. Sanitising bathroom accessories (sink, shower, bath, toilet, fixtures and fittings).
  6. Bin bags are replaced.
  7. Beds can be made, upon request.
  8. Kitchen sink, benchtops and cupboards are wiped and electrical appliances – polished.

Additionally, you can request for the following services to be included in your regular or extended cleaning session:

  1. Ironing
  2. Laundry duties
  3. Watering plants
  4. Washing of interior windows
  5. Taking care of the blinds.
  6. Feeding pets
  7. Additional errands

Please, note that additional deep cleaning services, such as an end of lease cleaning, carpet or upholstery steam cleaning, oven cleaning,  exterior window cleaning and mattress cleaning can be booked  separately at preferential rates.

So why not gift a new Mum the wonderful gift of time with her newborn, whilst Fantastic Services gets the job done. I’m gifting my readers $20 off a Fantastic Service when they register using this link. Or you can punch in the referral code: goodfoodweek when you book using the app.

Family meals for my tribe of 6
Hi guys 👋🏻 I seem to have had a few new foll Hi guys 👋🏻 I seem to have had a few new followers of late. I wonder if you’re here because of my reels?? (And if so, you’ll probably also want to follow @smallbusinessgrowthclub )

If you are new… here is a little intro… I’m Shari - a mum of four small boys (although their little hands seem to be getting better and bigger). They are nine, seven, five and three.

I whip up quick and easy meals for my family. I currently work full time and so the content juggle is real 😩

But the thing is, I actually also have a blog - www.GoodFoodWeek.com.au - so you can drop by there for some of my tried and tested favourites. I’m fact, this Spanish beef is one of the most viewed recipes on the blog!

And if you aren’t new - I’d love to hear what are some of your favourite recipes from my blog.

Walking into our wedding like ‘can you believe w Walking into our wedding like ‘can you believe we just did that?’

How does it feel like this was just a moment ago? And yet also a lifetime ago? It’s been 10 years to be precise…

Thanks for being by my side, day in and day out @phillipujdur
I mean, we did celebrate our 10th wedding annivers I mean, we did celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary in style with @huntervalleyhelicopters …

But today, it’s back to reality of work and school drop offs/pick ups and sick children 🤧- so we decided to throw ourselves a little pizza party thanks to @mccain_au
Snacks, snacks, snacks - what snacks are doing dow Snacks, snacks, snacks - what snacks are doing down well in your household at the moment?

I feel like the boys have had an overload of chocolate and I want to take it back to healthier alternatives…

But in our household, I feel like everyone goes through stages. One week they’ll eat all the bananas in one day, so the following week I’ll order 3kgs instead of 1kg and no one will eat banana 🤦🏼‍♀️

I mean, I freeze them for smoothies or make banana bread so they don’t go to waste.

But I’m keen to hear what snacks are popular in your household at the moment?
Get in my belly… I’ve been reading a lot abou Get in my belly…

I’ve been reading a lot about self love of late. I feel like there is so much self sacrifice when you’re a mother, and yet I am starting to realise that I need to love myself first to be a better mum and partner.

So here is to starting with something small for me. These @byronbaycookies are the business!!
Self love sometimes looks like just surging up lef Self love sometimes looks like just surging up leftovers and taking yourself to bed with a good book.

Shari from GoodFoodWeek

GoodFoodWeek started in 2008 as a way of sharing recipes with uni friends and family who were spread near and far. It has evolved over the years to contain my ramblings as I’ve searched for a house, planned the perfect veggie patch, stumbled through farmer’s markets with my eye half open (because you need to be there at 6am to get the fresh eggs), had babies, gathered family and friends around a shared table, laughed out loud and enjoyed life to the fullest!
