Recipe: Monday meals ideas – jazz up the same old, same old

November 30, 2015 by Shari

I feel like the year goes fast enough, without planning your Christmas day meal in November. So, if you can bare with me I’m going to give you some meal inspiration that isn’t very Christmasy for one last week, before I hit you with my Christmas treats in December!

I feel like when we get to this part of the year, we can get a little over the day to day routine.

We are sick of cooking the same old, same old week in and week out. If you’ve hit the wall and just want to pick up a BBQ chicken and some hot chips on the way home from swimming lessons – I see you, I feel you… I have another option for you.

Why not mix up your standard weekly fair with one of these recipes. I have two recipes that will take your weekly stir-fry to another level. And if your ‘go-to’ is Mexican {like me}, then I have two recipes that flip your Mexican ingredients upside down.

Family life is busy.  Children’s activities, school commitments and social activities fill our calendars.  It’s easy to get overwhelmed and the healthy habits we try so hard to adopt can easily fall by the wayside. I believe that supporting ourselves and our families to be happy and healthy by providing wholesome, real food options is one of the most important and valuable things we can do.

For me, having an organised kitchen and planning meals in advance helps me to stay on track when it comes to healthy eating.

Have you ‘jazzed up’ one of your go to meals lately? If you have whipped up one of my recipes, I would love for you to share it on social media – don’t forget to use the hashtag #goodfoodweek.

If you are new… here is a little intro… I’m Shari - a mum of four small boys (although their little hands seem to be getting better and bigger). They are nine, seven, five and three.

But the thing is, I actually also have a blog - www.GoodFoodWeek.com.au - so you can drop by there for some of my tried and tested favourites. I’m fact, this Spanish beef is one of the most viewed recipes on the blog!

And if you aren’t new - I’d love to hear what are some of your favourite recipes from my blog.

Shari from GoodFoodWeek

GoodFoodWeek started in 2008 as a way of sharing recipes with uni friends and family who were spread near and far. It has evolved over the years to contain my ramblings as I’ve searched for a house, planned the perfect veggie patch, stumbled through farmer’s markets with my eye half open (because you need to be there at 6am to get the fresh eggs), had babies, gathered family and friends around a shared table, laughed out loud and enjoyed life to the fullest!
