Off the back of seeing Lola Berry at the Canberra Centre, I thought that I would share a healthy salad recipe or two this fine meal planning Monday. I had such a fun morning listening to her talking about “health & happiness” – whilst she rocked the most amazing dress by Thurley {I love a white, lace dress}.
I believe that your health and your happiness are definitely connected. And I think that you feel better when you eat whole foods in the correct season. Although, I don’t think I could ever follow a strict paleo or vegan diet.
But that was one of the wonderful things about Lola’s talk, she didn’t want us to follow a ‘diet’. She doesn’t like the word ‘diet’. She wants people to find what works for them and embrace a lifestyle.
I won’t be quitting sugar anytime soon – but in saying that I have been cutting down on the refined sugar that our family consumes and swapping it for more natural, complex carbohydrate sugars. And whilst it is often hard to fill your plate with salads during the winter months – they sure are featuring on our menu now that the weather has warmed up.

Do you eat a lot of whole foods? To you follow a particular diet? If you have whipped up one of my recipes, I would love for you to share it on social media – don’t forget to use the hashtag #goodfoodweek.

What a collection of yummy salad recipes. We are definitely eating a lot more salads now it’s warmed up again.

I think a lot of people think salad just has to be tomato, cucumber, lettuce – but it is so much more…and a great option when you have kids.

Oh I’m loving the look of these salads, Shari! I could really go for a bowl of that poached chicken salad for lunch today. Our lunches and dinners have mostly been salad-based over the last week or so because it has been incredibly hot here in Brisbane!

Thanks Lisa. The duck salad is super good! I can’t imagine how hot it would have been in Brisbane of late as we have been well into the 30’s down here in Canberra.
